Ourania Katsara is a Senior Teaching Fellow in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in University of Patras, Greece since 2003. She has also taught EAP courses on summer pre-sessional courses in UK universities in order to assist international students in acclimatising academically to university settings outside of their native country. She studied in the UK where she gained a BA in English Language and English and European Literature, from Essex University, UK, an MA in Applied Linguistics from Essex University, UK and a PhD in International Education (PhD dissertation title: Greek students in UK universities: a support strategy) from University of Brighton, UK. She has conducted research on the efficacy of, and methods to improve, the current pedagogy of university programmes. She has published articles on the topic in peer-reviewed journals and other publications and have presented in international conferences on the topic. Her research interests include international education, internationalization of the curriculum, intercultural communication, culturally responsive pedagogy, student mobility.
